This position is based at the remote Del Norte Unit of Devils River State Natural Area located on Dolan Creek Rd; which is approximately 1.5 hours (one-way) from Del Rio.Under the direction of the Complex Superintendent, this position performs complex (journey-level) park/historic site management work including overseeing the preservation, protection, administration, and maintenance of the Devils River State Natural Area (DRSNA) Del Norte Unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: visitor and customer service; cultural and natural resource protection and stewardship; financial management, including budget planning, preparation, and monitoring; revenue management; human resources management, including recruitment and retention; security and safety programs; maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds, and equipment; customer service; public relations, marketing, and promotion; interpretive and educational program management, including engaging in community outreach; and coordinating special events. Engages in volunteer development and cultivating partnerships. Leads team to fulfill the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Mission and in a manner that embodies the departmentand#8217;s core values. Serves as DRSNA lead superintendent in their absence. Responsible for other assigned projects required by the Region and Austin headquarters. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
