This position acts in the capacity of Facility Coordinator serving over 60 internal employees and approximately 5000 public visitors per year. Perform all grounds and facility maintenance for the complex.Under the direction of the Regional Director and Staff Services Officer, this position is responsible for performing complex (journey-level), highly complex, or advanced (senior-level) construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance work including the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of the water and wastewater system for Tyler Nature Center. Responsible for regulatory compliance in all utility operations to include completion of required forms and reports as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Performs all phases of maintenance and repairs to other site facilities, equipment, grounds, and electrical and plumbing systems utilizing equipment such as hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, and other machinery. Responsible for preparing reports and providing visitor services. Available for emergency call outs, as needed. Works under general, limited, or minimal supervision, with moderate to considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and branch rules, regulations and procedures.NOTE: On site housing is available.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Graduation from High School or GED.Experience:Maintenance Specialist III: Two years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.Maintenance Specialist IV: Four years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.Maintenance Specialist V: Five years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.Licensure:Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid class "C" Texas driver's license.Maintenance Specialist IV-V: Must possess or be able to obtain, within one year of employment, a Class C Water and/ or Wastewater LicenseNote: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS:Experience:Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of two years.
