This role is responsible for processing bulk cannabis materials into various high-quality active pharmaceutical outputs in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The primary responsibilities of the role will be executing specific assigned prep, testing, processing, extraction, refinement, and post-processing tasks while maintaining strict adherence to SOPs, company, and regulatory standards to support the production plan.

This role is responsible for processing bulk cannabis materials into various high-quality active pharmaceutical outputs in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The primary responsibilities of the role will be executing specific assigned prep, testing, processing, extraction, refinement, and post-processing tasks while maintaining strict adherence to SOPs, company, and regulatory standards to support the production plan.
Essential Functions:
- Perform efficient, safe, and accurate work for all assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with company SOPs, state policies, and product specifications.
- Work to ensure daily processing schedule and goals set by Processing Manager are met.
- Complete processing tasks with consistency and quality while always adhering to all safety requirements.
- Maintain meticulous records for all processing activities to meet operational, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Awareness of company quality and compliance standards for each output type.
- Proper handling and storage of flammable materials, chemicals, and solvents.
- Operate extraction and refinement equipment.
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of processing and extraction equipment.
- Maintain high level of cleanliness of all department equipment, areas, and tools according to company procedures which may include sweeping, mopping, and sanitization of environment, and work surfaces.
- Collect, log, and destroy process waste, scrap, and regular waste per company procedures.
- Supports manufacturing activities as needed to deliver production schedule.
- Participate in R&D projects for new products or extraction methods.
- Participate in process improvement strategies to maximize yield, improve throughput, and reduce downtime.
- Startup and shutdown of assigned processes to maintain balanced workflow and meet department needs, occasionally during non-traditional working hours (i.e., second/night-shift).
- Report and document inefficiencies and downtime to identify process and equipment issues.
- 1 year of experience in food and beverage, commercial kitchens, labs. Cannabis industry experience preferred. Extraction experience a plus.
- Experience working with extraction, laboratory and/or industrial food processing and preparation equipment preferred. Experience with Delta Separations equipment a plus.
- Ability to effectively manage change and adjust comfortably to new people and processes.
- Flexibility in a quick moving, growing industry. Experience in a startup and/or high-growth environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Reliability with time and attendance.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Extraordinary attention to detail.
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Experience and working knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control procedures (QC) preferred
- Familiarity or experience with GMP, working in classified spaces preferred
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPT at all times
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to service various equipment
- Frequently lifts, loads, unloads, moves, positions, and transports items up to 50 lbs
- This person may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree
- This person will be required to work in a C1D2 space and will be exposed to solvents used in the extraction process.
