Overview:


Texas Oncology
is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Breast Surgery to join our team at our Texas Breast Specialists clinic! This position will support the Plano West location.


This position will be either a level I, II or Senior based on candidate experience.

What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?
Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP): is an incentive program that typically vests over a three-year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and based on your position, performance, and potential for future career growth at Texas Oncology. Awards are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review. LTIP awards are subject to your continued employment through the award payment date, and are governed by the written terms and conditions of the LTIP document.


What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to)

Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standard

Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures after appropriate training.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Incorporates the developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
  • May promote/provide staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:


Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.


Level I is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience.


Level II requires three (3) years of experience.


Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience.

Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS) certification required.


OR


Nurse Practitioner

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.


Level I is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience.


Level II requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience.


Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience.

RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS) certification required.


OR


Clinical Nurse Specialist

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.


Level I is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience.


Level II requires three (3) years of experience.


Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience.

RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS) certification required.
