Job Description
Overview
An acute care hospital in Oviedo, Florida is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care across inpatient and critical care settings.
This role is ideal for respiratory therapists with strong clinical judgment and experience supporting ventilated patients, emergent situations, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Responsibilities
Perform and document comprehensive respiratory assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures
Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy
Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen delivery, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy
Assist with placement and management of artificial airways
Initiate, monitor, and manage invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation
Monitor patient response to therapy and intervene appropriately for adverse or unintended outcomes
Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients
Respond to emergency situations, including codes and rapid responses, ensuring airway integrity and effective ventilation
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 1 year of RRT experience
L&D or critical care experience preferred
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (CRT does not qualify)
Active Florida Respiratory Therapist (RCP) license
Associate Degree in Respiratory Care
BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire)
Required Within 6 Months of Hire:
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
ACLS
PALS
