Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician located in Austin, TX. The Ophthalmic Technician will assist the ophthalmologist in providing patient care through various technical duties. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic tests like fundus photography, assisting with patient examinations, and checking in patients. The role also involves recording patient medical histories, testing vision, and ensuring proper preparation for procedures.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Ophthalmology and basic Medical practices
- Skills in Optometry and performing eye-related diagnostic procedures, such as Fundus Photography
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure excellent patient care
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting with attention to detail
- Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician or significant relevant experience is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous
