BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY
Performs highly advanced (senior-level) project management work in the areas of communications and network management. Work involves directing and managing Information Technology (IT) service management, communications, and emergency communications support operations. May supervise the work of others. Reports to the Director, J6 Information Directorate of the Texas Military Department (TMD) and works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee IT service project functions, to include reporting, planning, task management, and organizing.
- Direct the negotiation, development, evaluation, and management of J6 taskings, orders production, and interaction with other JFHQs, TMD staff elements.
- Assist in the preparation and/or prepare financial statements and periodic reports on the status of various IT services, infrastructure and communications management, and related matters.
- Oversee the tasks and management of internal J6 operations.
- Participate in the solicitation of bids for maintenance contractors and IT projects.
- Manage, evaluate, and/or coordinate network and communications services and records.
- Plan, schedule, manage, monitor, and coordinate general maintenance and major repairs of equipment and property.
- Assist with supply or service contract management related to J6 IT projects.
- Assist with the planning process of managing end user automation devices and peripherals for the Texas Army National Guard.
- May supervise the work of others.
- Perform related work as assigned.
- Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency state employee policies and procedures handbook.
- May be required to perform duty in support of national emergencies, disasters, and other missions, to include on holidays and weekends.
Salary : $92,600 - $129,444
