DEPARTMENT Enrollment
SUPERVISOR Director of Operations
BASIC FUNCTION
Sell new insurance policies and service as needed to retain existing insureds.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS
1. Take incoming phone calls regarding new sales opportunities or current policy changes,
explain policy features.
2. Prepare proposals and quotes for coverage.
3. Present quotes and/or renewals to decision makers and prospective insureds.
4. Help advise clients which coverage will be a fit for their and/or their staff’s needs.
5. Input all opportunities/leads and follow up activities into the CRM system.
6. Input group terminations into the CRM system.
7. Liaison with carriers as needed to move applications through the underwriting process.
8. Help maintain and build relationships with Residency Programs and Medical Schools.
9. Attend TMA events where TMAIT is an exhibitor.
10. Obtain and maintain life and health license with the Texas Department of Insurance.
11. Engage in continuous learning through attending seminars and enrolling in industry
education programs.
12. Take incoming calls regarding current benefits/issues. Liaison with carriers as needed to
resolve issues.
13. Perform other related duties as directed or required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No supervisory responsibility.
INDEPENDENCE/SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Duties performed in accordance with standard practices. Must exercise judgment regarding sequence of work, which procedure to use or which insurance solution to recommend.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Experience:
Requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form as well as analyze financial information accurately. Equivalent knowledge is normally acquired through three to four years of customer-facing insurance industry experience. Must understand different types of life and health insurance. Must also be able to communicate professionally and effectively with TMAIT staff and members.
Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Teams as well as customer relationship management software such as Salesforce. This position could require in-person client visits and TMA events thus, some travel will be required
