Position Overview: We are seeking a positive, hardworking, and intelligent Billing Coordinator to join our close-knit team. In this key role, you will serve as the coordinator for the entire revenue cycle for each patient.

Key Responsibilities
- Verify mostly medical and some dental insurance eligibility and benefits; submitting pre-authorizations and claims.
- Discuss financial options, including insurance benefits, out-of-pocket costs, and payment plans
- Submit and work appeals
- Input payments and reconcile accounts
- Accounts receivable
- Answer financial questions positively, clearly and thoroughly
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and communication logs
- Answering phones, following referral office protocol and keeping up to date with our new patient system.
- As with the entire team, you will be cross trained in all front desk job duties and will need to be able and capable to fill in where needed.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Prior experience working in a dental or oral surgery office
- Solid knowledge of ICD-10, dental terminology, CDT coding, and medical/dental insurance processes
- Strong computer skills and comfort learning practice management software
- Knowledge of medical insurance (a significant plus, as many procedures involve both dental and medical billing)
- Experience with insurance claims submission, follow-up, and appeals
- Previous experience in oral maxillofacial surgery or specialty practice
