What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oil Change Technician position at Texas Landscape Creations?
The Mechanic/Shop helper is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair of landscape and construction equipment, related tools, and motor vehicles in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner at direction of Shop Foreman.
Job Duties include:
- Diagnose, repair and maintain a fleet of 20 vehicles including gas and diesel engines, including box trucks, trailers, as well as hydraulic dump trailers.
- Diagnose and repair and maintain landscape and construction equipment including but not limited to skid steers, mini skids, ZTR Mowers, walk behind mowers, and handheld equipment- line trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, chain saws, edgers etc.
- Follow proper diagnostics procedures & trouble shooting processes.
- Maintain work logs, order parts and keep accurate records of all maintenance tasks performed on all fleet vehicles as well as equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment including but not limited to tools/toolbox, supplies, and parts inventory.
- Perform vehicle assessments and alert Shop Foreman on issues that will prohibit vehicles and or equipment from operating efficiently.
Must be knowledgeable and have experience in:
· Shop Safety
· General Mechanics
- Hydraulic Systems
· Gas and Diesel engines- diagnostics and repair
· Electrical systems in relation to machinery, trailers, and vehicles
· Air Conditioning Systems- diagnostics and repair
* Preference given towards someone with a strong background in diagnostics and repair of electrical systems.
Pay negotiable based on experience
