Join our dynamic team as a Delivery Driver. The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of meals, food supplies, and program materials to participating childcare centers and at-risk afterschool program sites. This position also assists with meal packaging, loading, and inventory while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Packaging and Distribution
- Assist with packaging and preparing meals, snacks, and supplies for daily delivery.
- Verify delivery orders for accuracy before loading.
- Load and unload meals, food items, utensils, and program supplies safely and efficiently.
Delivery Operations
- Deliver meals, snacks, and supplies to assigned program sites according to established schedules.
- Ensure food is transported safely while maintaining required temperatures and food safety standards.
- Obtain delivery receipts, signatures, or other required documentation.
- Report delivery delays, shortages, or issues to Management promptly.
Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after deliveries.
- Maintain the delivery vehicle in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
- Follow all traffic laws and organizational vehicle policies.
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with the kitchen staff to coordinate daily delivery schedules.
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and organization of food and supplies as needed.
- Support special events and additional delivery requests when required.
- Help ensure meals are delivered accurately and on time to support program operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience as a delivery driver or in food distribution preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and transportation practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with staff and program sites.
- Ability to maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to load and unload food containers, boxes, and supplies.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of a delivery vehicle throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions during deliveries.
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
