Inventory Control Manager – Texas Iron and Metal

At Texas Iron and Metal, the Inventory Control Manager ensures accuracy, accountability, and efficiency across all inventory operations. This position leads the inventory control team, including receiving personnel and an administrator, to maintain precise inventory levels, streamline warehouse processes, and support operational and customer needs. The Inventory Control Manager is also responsible for building and developing a strong team through effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage the inventory control team, including receiving staff and an administrator.
- Oversee and coordinate daily receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of inbound materials.
- Implement and maintain systems for tracking, auditing, and reconciling inventory.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with warehouse, transportation, and sales teams to ensure smooth and efficient material flow.
- Maintain organized and accessible storage areas with proper labeling and adherence to safety standards.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on inventory status, accuracy, and process improvements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork within the department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, accuracy, and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in inventory control, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Strong background in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing team members.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving complex “puzzles” and developing creative solutions.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
- Must be willing to work outdoors for a significant part of the day.
