Medical Front Office Specialist
Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders (TIND) is seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Medical Front Office Specialist to join our growing neurology practice. This position is primarily based in our Durant, OK office. Occasional travel to our Sherman and Denison locations may be required.
What You'll Do
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring the front office operates efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and compassion
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments for multiple providers
- Answer high-volume inbound phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general inquiries
- Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and process payments accurately
- Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and preferred pharmacy
- Scan and upload insurance cards, identification, and other patient documentation into the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and fellow team members
- Assist with additional front office and administrative duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required
- Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer and typing skills with the ability to quickly learn new software and EMR systems
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and a positive team player
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
