Energetic Orthopedic practice looking to add an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to our fast paced team! The PA or NP will provide comprehensive patient care under the supervision of the orthopedic shoulder & elbow surgeon. This includes performing physical exams as well as injections, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, assisting in surgery, and providing patient education. They will work closely along side the surgeon to manage patient care, from initial diagnosis through recovery and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis:. Conducting thorough patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations, to determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Diagnostic Procedures:. Ordering and interpreting imaging studies (X-rays, MRI, CT scans) and other diagnostic tests.
- Treatment Planning and Management: Developing and implementing treatment plans, which may include medications, physical therapy, and/or injections.
- Surgical Assistance: Assisting orthopedic surgeon during surgical procedures, including patient positioning, preparing the surgical site, handling instruments, and performing suturing or other tasks as directed. Practice includes joint replacement, minimally invasive arthroscopic as well as tendon transfer and fusion procedures. Expectation is to be open to a leadership role when appropriate within the surgical care team to provide excellent patient care.
- Post-operative Care: Managing post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and monitoring patient progress.
- Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicating effectively with patients, surgeons, primary care physicians as well as other healthcare professionals, and insurance companies.
- Maintaining Records: Documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress in electronic health records.
