What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist position at Texas Health Care PLCC?
We are a dedicated and patient-centered endocrinology practice committed to providing high-
quality care for individuals with diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other hormonal conditions.
This role requires strong teamwork, multitasking, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume
environment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, efficient, and committed to providing
excellent patient care while balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting. New

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for examination, taking vital signs and medical history
- Assist physician, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with exams and procedures
- Perform in-office diagnostic tests, including blood glucose checks and EKGs
- Administer injections and assist with medication management under provider supervision
- Handle prescription refills, prior authorizations, and lab result follow-ups
- Educate patients on diabetes management, thyroid conditions, and medication adherence
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, answering phones, and insurance verification as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
Qualifications:
- Will accept new graduates
- Applicants must have a current Phlebotomist certification.
- Applicants must have a Medical Assistant diploma, and certification is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, patient, and physicians.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
- Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients and families.
- Good computer skills using a medical management application (EHR).
- Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
- Must be reliable/dependable during work hours, as traveling to other office locations will be required.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Must have reliable transportation, as traveling to SW Fort Worth and Southlake locations will be required.
