Brief Job Description
Performs advanced and/or supervisory (senior-level) computer systems analysis work as a Tools Support Administrator- Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange/CDC, IIR (Informatica Identity Resolution), ETL, Cognos, Transformer, Framework Manager, and PowerCubes within the TIERS Operations Tools Support team.
Work involves coordinating planning, budgeting, and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. May plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position augments staff skilled in meeting the demands for implementing and supporting the Informatica and Cognos product suites used within TIERS. This includes a DataMart solution which also relies on Informatica and Cognos products.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Administering Informatica ETL tools such as Power Center, Power Exchange, CDC (Change Data Capture), Proactive Monitoring for Operations and Governance. Administer Cognos software, Transformer, Framework Manager, and PowerCubes.
Experience with monitoring tools Splunk, Dynatrace, Interscope or similar monitoring tools.
Experience in ETL and Data Integration technologies, Cognos Server and Client Tools on Windows or UNIX / Linux operating systems.
Skill In
UNIX shell scripting experience with strong SQL and ETL coding skills.
Experience with Batch scheduling tools such as OpConn.
Experience with MQ Message Broker.
Ability To
Ability to trouble shoot issues with the Informatica and Cognos tools and assist the Development teams when problems occur.
Experience troubleshooting outages, determine root causes and repair in a 24/7 high availability computing environment

- Provides system administration for Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange/CDC (Change Data Capture), IIR (Informatica Identity Resolution), Cognos Analytics, Transformer, Framework Manager, PowerCubes applications. Performs application installation and server maintenance; Performs patches and upgrades of administered software; Sets up users and environments and manages licensing.
- Provides specialized system administration skills and product support in Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange/CDC and Informatica IIR (Informatica Identity Resolution) software used in TIERS Reporting and identity matching software. Coordinate, plan, upgrade, design, implement, and administer tools to provide complex data reporting.
- Deploys ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) to upper environments to support TIERS Release activity. Support TIERS Releases, deployments, and monthly maintenance activities to over 24-environments using Agile methodology. Participate in user story creation, scrum meetings, and sprints. Consults with Informatica and IBM to resolve issues with PowerCenter, PowerExchange/CDC and Cognos.
- Works closely with the Oracle and SQL database teams to resolve all CDC and Cognos related application failures.
- Provide 24x7 TIERS support and serves as escalation point for Informatica and Cognos application issues. Assists in resolving issues and liaisons with vendors to resolve application outages.
- Design, Architect and Support Cognos Server and Client Tools, Upgrades, Product and Platform maintenance. Performs administrative tasks, reviews logs, and deploys application code and support releases, develops automation, monitoring, and auditing.
- Support Automation, Monitoring and Security Patching using third-party tools. Support comprehensive security assessments within all environments.
- Set up LDAP Authentication and SSO in TIERS portal, environment creation, and maintenance.
