About the Position
We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician who can contribute to the maintenance of machinery and equipment, as well as doing basic duties around the facility related to maintenance, operations, and housekeeping. Applied training and skills in multiple core disciplines (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Welding) is preferred. This position will reside at our Georgetown, TX facility, and may assist our downtown office location, when needed.
What are the key responsibilities?:
- Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
- Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
- Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.
- Performs “Maintenance Tasks” within designated frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that building equipment operates properly.
- Inspect systems and troubleshoot equipment to identify problems or repairs. Submit findings to supervisor.
- Plans and schedules for critical equipment repair in advance. Communicate with management.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and materials, submits reorders as needed
- Maintain building operations by performing general repairs (painting and drywall, plumbing, lighting, doors, furniture, training room setup) and other related maintenance activities.
- Perform welding repairs to equipment and fabrication requests.
- Wear appropriate clothing and PPE to perform maintenance tasks (steel toe shoes, jean pants, sleeved shirt). Keep up with appearance and hygiene.
- Ensure safety standards are followed throughout facility.
- Keep up to date with assigned training or safety courses.
- Keep storage, welding and forklift repair areas clean and orderly.
- Keep exterior yards clean (pick up trash, remove debris from storm drains, inspect perimeter fence).
- Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine and equipment clean-up, and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Assist with general cleaning tasks and upkeep of facilities (clean floor mats, blow off sidewalks).
- Assist with warehouse operations (dumping trash, vacuuming perimeter racks, floor sweep).
- Rotate on-call for weekend projects and emergency response.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three years of related experience in field is preferred (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical).
- High school diploma or technical school preferred.
- Forklift and Genie Lift experience preferred.
- Valid Drivers' License required to drive between Georgetown and Austin locations, or to run local errands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create, maintain reports and logs (utilizing tablet, laptop, or cell phone).
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions from supervisors or senior staff members.
- Knowledge of general mechanical repairs, electrical diagnostics, reading voltmeter and building prints, carpentry and painting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Operate and maintain building maintenance tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and effective manner. Work independently in the absence of supervision. Self-starter, and plans daily schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform physical effort to lift or move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in outdoor areas, subject to the elements.
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, twist, push, and pull for sustained periods of time.
- Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- Complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Able to operate a computer and other office machinery using finger dexterity for typing and writing.
- Must be able to communicate, converse with, and exchange information by means of the spoken word.
- Visual acuity to view a computer screen, prints or diagrams.
