Job Summary: The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and store products and materials. This role ensures accuracy in inventory handling, supports production and shipping needs, and maintains a safe, organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse, production area, or shipping/receiving docks.
  • Stack and organize products and materials in designated storage areas.
  • Inspect forklifts before and after use; report and document any malfunctions, needed repairs, or safety hazards.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required PPE, and adhere to OSHA standards.
  • Assist with order picking, staging, and preparing shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movement and support inventory control procedures.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to ensure timely workflow.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Professional requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid forklift certification/license (required or ability to obtain).
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift or material-handling experience preferably in a Corrugated Box facility
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and reliability

Physical Requirements: Employees working in a plant environment must be able to perform the essential physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift). Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials, tools, or products (typically up to 50 lbs; occasionally heavier with assistance). Adequate vision to read gauges, screens, and written instructions. Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, or noisy environments.
