The Rework Operator is responsible for inspecting, sorting, repairing, and reworking corrugated products that do not initially meet quality standards. This role ensures salvaged materials meet customer specifications while minimizing waste and maintaining production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect finished corrugated boxes and sheets for defects (print, slotting, folding, glue, stitching, die-cut, bundle count, etc.).
  • Sort and separate defective products from acceptable product.
  • Perform rework activities including re-gluing, re-folding, trimming, re-bundling, re-stacking, labeling corrections, and minor repairs.
  • Accurately recount and restack bundles to meet customer quantity requirements.
  • Communicate quality issues to machine operators and supervisors.
  • Maintain production records and rework documentation as required.
  • Assist with housekeeping and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all plant safety rules and wear required PPE.
  • Support production team as needed to meet daily output goals.

Professional requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in corrugated manufacturing or general production environment preferred.
  • Ability to identify quality defects and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Physical Requirements: Employees working in a plant environment must be able to perform the essential physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift). Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials, tools, or products (typically up to 50 lbs.; occasionally heavier with assistance). Adequate vision to read gauges, screens, and written instructions. Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, or noisy environments.
