About Us

Texas Concrete Partners, L.P. (TCP) is comprised of two production facilities. The Victoria location was established in 1948 and is located on approximately 50 acres in Victoria. The Waco location was established in 1970 and is located on 75 acres north of Waco at Elm Mott. We produced the first Pre-stressed girders used by TxDOT in 1956 at the Victoria location and have been in continuous production of pre-stressed / precast products for the State of Texas and various municipalities since. We have a production capability of approximately 500,000 lineal feet of girders per year and we have been involved in several major research projects for FHWA, the State of Texas and the University of Texas.

TCP's own comprehensive quality control program and engineering department assure customers of high quality, uniform products that are built to exceed customer specifications. TCP Quality Control personnel are fully certified by the Precast/Pre-stressed Concrete Institute (PCI).

Job Description – Environmental Health and Safety Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans, administers, implements and coordinates the Company's safety program to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and financial losses and to ensure the

Company is in compliance with state laws and regulations regarding workplace safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA") rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plans, administers, implements and coordinates the Company's safety programs to control risks and losses.

Analyzes and classifies hazards/risks as to frequency and potential severity, and measures financial impact of risk on Company.

Prepares operational and risk reports for management analysis.

Identifies and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents.

Coordinates safety activities with management to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout Company.

Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepares reports.

Maintains liaison with outside organizations to assure information exchange and mutual assistance, including vendors and governmental agencies

Devises methods to evaluate safety programs and conducts/directs evaluations.

Attends conferences, seminars and courses to maintain continued awareness of safety programs, including monthly manager’s conference call

Understands and interprets local, state and federal regulations and statutes relative to environmental safety, employee safety, and Workers' Compensation to ensure the Company is in compliance.

Counsels employees and others in relation to insurance program activities, benefits and actions, including disciplinary actions

Conducts inspections and enforces adherence to laws, regulations, or

Company policies governing worker health and Safety including labor laws

Gathers and maintains accident, injury and other statistics and records.

Provides safety and loss control training to supervisors and employees (at a minimum monthly)

Inspects machinery, equipment, and working conditions at the facility to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, other provincial and federal regulations governing the industry, and/or Company practices and procedures.

Observes workers to determine use of prescribed safety equipment, such as safety glasses or goggles, hard hat, safety vest, ear plugs and steel toe shoes. Checks to see whether dangerous materials are maintained and stored correctly.

Assists in rehabilitation of workers after accidents/injuries and makes sure they return to work successfully.

Participates in the investigation of employee accidents, claims, thefts, and property losses and coordinates the preparation of materials and evidence for use in hearing, litigation and insurance claim cases.

Manages various types of insurance claims including industrial injuries

KNOWLEDGE:

Strong working knowledge of 29 CFR Part 1910 and 1926 including program-specific requirements to include, but not limited to a respirator, confined space, electrical, fall protection, hazard communication, and lockout tag out.

Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA Safety Regulations.

Knowledge of training methods, procedures, and techniques.

Knowledge of accident prevention principles, practices, and procedures.

Strong computer skills including data management and presentation and experience in MS Office Suite.

Vehicle operation and safety testing/monitoring equipment skills.

Strong investigative analysis skills.

Data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing; ability to have a direct, influencing discussion in keeping with the Texas Concrete Partners Vision, Values, and Mission.

Training module generation skills that align with policies and procedures.

Ability to multitask in an environment of changing priorities.

Ability to present oral presentations and training.

Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, management, and internal/external customers.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands for fine motor activity such as using manipulation of tools and parts while repairing large or small equipment. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for prolonged period of time. The employee must be able to frequently lift /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee will also be required to be exposed to the elements for lengthy periods of time due to the nature of the work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
