HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Admission to the State Bar of Texas plus eight years of full-time experience in the practice of law, or employment in a responsible position involving legal work as a primary duty or six years of full-time experience in the practice of environmental law or employment involving environmental legal work.
AND
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of highly complex area or subject matter.
TRANSCRIPTS / COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORK

WORK SCHEDULE
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Oversee the preparation of contested case hearings, agency agenda meetings, alternative dispute resolution proceedings and/or other agency proceedings.
- Facilitate staff assistance to the Office of Attorney General in the preparation of appeals of decisions and orders. Assist in resolving substantive and procedural issues.
- Direct, organize, and coordinate legal and administrative functions related to the running of the division. Formulate, coordinate, and establish policies and procedures, as appropriate.
- Plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Oversee and advise staff on legal matters and the interpretation and application of statutes and rules.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of orders, agreements, briefs, memos, correspondence, proposals, and reports. Review drafts of rules and guidance. Review legislative bills.
