See details about what we do.This position is a member of our Information Resources Division.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGParticipate in the analysis, development, programming, and implementation/modification of agency software applications for the Information Resources Division of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Perform coding tasks for application maintenance, support, and development, based on requirements and design documentation while adhering to agency information technology (IT) standards.
Perform design tasks for application maintenance, support, and development, based on requirements documentation while adhering to agency IT standards.
Test and perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews, to include Peer-Reviews for application maintenance and development against requirements and design documentation while adhering to agency IT standards. Guide and assist customers with customer acceptance testing.
Provide technical analysis support specific to application maintenance, support, and development.
Provide customer support to agency staff specific to agency applications and general IT related areas.
Qualifications: KEY QUALIFICATIONSExperience using an Oracle relational database: PL/SQL, SQL.
Experience programing in Java J2EE frameworks, Web Services, Perl, PHP, JavaScript.
Experience working with Linux or UNIX.REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEThree (3) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.ORA bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science.ORCompletion of 30 semester hours (600 clock hours) in computer science from a licensed vocational, technical or business school or accredited college, plus one (1) year of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.ORCompletion of 15 semester hours (300 clock hours) in computer science from a licensed vocational, technical or business school or accredited college, plus two (2) years of full-time experience in computer programming, computer system administration, and/or systems analysis.**Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.TRANSCRIPT / COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORKSee instructions on how to attach documents.
