See details about what we do.This position is in the General Law Division.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGProvide moderately complex administrative support for staff attorneys, senior attorneys, coordinators, supervisors, and investigators for the Office of Legal Services of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Prepare documents and correspondence for legal proceedings and for use in the office environment. Proofread, edit, format and prepare documents in accordance with TCEQ accessibility guidelines and other requirements. Organize documents and correspondence for mailings and filings with governmental entities; file documents with governmental entities; mail, fax, and hand-deliver documents; and transcribe audio proceedings.
Maintain databases; track information; and compile technical data for reports, correspondence, and legal documents. Obtain reports from databases.
Organize, assemble, and maintain cases, notebooks, files, and records. Develop, organize, and maintain electronic and hardcopy filing systems. Scan and photocopy information.
Perform special functions which may include scheduling meetings; maintaining calendars; reserving meeting facilities; answering phones including the OLS reception phone; coordinating travel arrangements and preparing agency travel forms; and logging pending and completed assignments.
Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEGraduation from an accredited high school, plus two years of full-time experience providing clerical or administrative support.One semester (15 semester hours) of accredited college work may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.Completion of 300 clock hours of course work in the clerical field from a licensed vocational, technical, or business school may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.ORGraduation from an accredited high school, plus one year of full-time experience as a legal secretary.Completion of a legal secretarial curriculum from a licensed vocational, technical, or business school may be substituted for one year of the required experience.TRANSCRIPT / COLLEGE HOURS or COURSE WORKSee instructions on how to attach documents.
