We bring passion and drive to carry out our mission of protecting our stateand#8217;s public health and natural resources.YOUR FUTURE TEAMAs part of TCEQand#8217;s Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites. See details about what we do.This position is a member of our PST/DCRP Section of the Remediation Division.HEREand#8217;S WHAT YOUand#8217;LL BE DOINGPlan and coordinate all phases of project management of remediation projects, involving moderately complex geoscience work, in accordance with PST/DCRP Section guidelines; evaluate technical submittals for adherence to regulations and specified contract requirements, draft documents to address technical reviews and queries, and develop scopes of work for site investigations and corrective actions.

Oversee contracts/work orders to achieve corrective action at PST/DCRP Section sites.

Review invoices under prevailing agency guidelines and required time frames.

Represent the agency at technical functions, seminars, and external meetings. Perform special technical or administrative tasks as assigned.KEY QUALIFICATIONSExperience in applying Petroleum Storage Tank or Dry Cleaner regulations at contaminated sites.

Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCEGeoscientist I:Licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG).OrFive years of full-time geoscientist experience and must be licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) or obtain licensure within twelve (12) months of hire date.Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.Geoscientist II:Licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) plus two years of full-time geoscientist experience beyond licensure.ORSeven years of full-time geoscientist experience and must obtain Geoscientist licensure within twelve (12) months of hire date by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG).A graduate degree in a geoscience discipline may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum of two years substitution allowed.Career Ladder ProgressionTwo years of full-time TCEQ experience as a Geoscientist IEmployees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.Geoscientist III:Licensed as a Geoscientist by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG) plus four years of full-time geoscientific experience beyond licensure.ORNine years of full-time geoscientist experience and must obtain Geoscientist licensure within twelve (12) months of hire date by the Texas Board of Professional Geo cientists (TBPG).A graduate degree in a geoscience discipline may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum of two years substitution allowed.Career Ladder Progression Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as a Geoscientist II.Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business Commerce Code Section 117.001(2).
