Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, Pnumatic transport freight across various routes.
- Load cargo efficiently using scales or other equipment when necessary, insuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking automatic and manual transmission systems, brakes, lights, and tires.
- Follow established routes diligently, adhering to traffic laws and company policies to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records for compliance and safety purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with special loads such as roll-off containers or freight requiring specialized handling procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on truck driving in various settings such as delivery or freight transportation.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission vehicles safely and confidently
- Familiarity with load procedures and securing freight for transport.
- Knowledge of route planning and driving regulations across different jurisdictions.
- 2 years Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., tanker endorsement).
