Job Summary:
Responsible for understanding daily deposit operation functions, which include processing and maintenance of refunds, correction and submission of adjustments, monitoring daily system generated reports, research requests, and overdraft functions. This position requires a basic understanding of regulatory rules and guidelines governing depository services.
Provides secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers while maintaining strict confidentiality of customer and banking relationships.
Primary objective of this position is to be a trusted advisor to every internal and external customer. Inspires confidence and builds lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitoring system generated reports for any necessary maintenance.
- Correct and submit incoming and outgoing adjustments.
- Process and maintenance refund requests, which consists of crediting account, and updating return item count to for accurate reporting of total charged items on periodic bank statements.
- Responsible for monitoring Overdrawn accounts for excessive OD/NSF fees, as well as processing Charged Off report per Overdraft Policy guidelines.
- Must be proficient with one or more of the following critical high-priority response functions: Exception Item Processing (NSF, Chargebacks, and non-posts).
Other Functions:
- Ability to effortlessly rotate between roles based on rotation schedule.
- Update DDA and CD Rates, and on Weekly Master Rate Worksheet as requested; as well as publish to HUB.
- Review and process Foreign Collection Items through correspondent bank, and complete needed entries for exchange rate differences.
- Daily processing of Medicare and Medicaid asset verification through the AVS processing. Accurate completion of balance confirmation audit requests, and all other account and balance verification requests for deposit accounts.
- Other duties as requested by their supervisor or other management representatives of the bank.
Job Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required, one to three years’ banking experience, preferred.
- Proficient use of computer software, such as Microsoft programs.
- Excellent customer service skills a must.
- Must be multi-task oriented and meet deadlines.
- Must be efficient, accurate, and have excellent attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain customer confidentiality.
- Knowledge of basic math calculations.
- Ability to read and understand regulations, policies and procedures; uses grammatically correct and clear oral and written communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to work well within team environment presenting a positive customer service demeanor and attitude.
- Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.
General Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions:
- Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push or pull or otherwise move objects within the immediate workstation.
- Must be able to walk, sit or stand frequently, up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to tolerate encounters with coworkers and customers under the following conditions: atmospheric pollutants or allergens, including but not limited to fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation; changes in indoor/outdoor temperatures encountered in travel between buildings and branches.
