Senior eDiscovery Engineer

A senior technical administration position and principal administrator of the Division's Relativity One tenant. Spans business analysis (requirements, workflow design, user and group administration) and hands-on technical execution (workspace configuration, search and analytics indices, permissions, templates, productions, troubleshooting). ITBA IV is the floor for an experienced platform administrator; ITBA V accommodates deeper senior-technical experience.

General description

Performs advanced to highly advanced IT business analysis work, serving as principal administrator of the Division's Relativity One tenant and its integrated toolset. Focused on tenant administration rather than matter-by-matter processing (processing is executed by eDiscovery Project Managers). Responsibilities include workspace and template management, user and group provisioning, permissions and security, search and analytics index administration, production templates, release and feature governance, and advanced platform troubleshooting.

Essential functions

• Administers the Relativity One tenant end-to-end: workspaces, templates, object types, layouts, views, saved searches, production templates, and shared resources.
• Owns user/group provisioning, permission schemes, item-level security, matter walls, and authentication (SSO/MFA) in coordination with IT.
• Administers dtSearch, conceptual indices, structured analytics sets, analytics profiles, clustering, email threading, categorization, and TAR (CAL) projects in support of the Litigation Technology Manager.
• Governs Relativity releases and feature adoption; executes change-management communication.
• Administers Integration Points, Processing profiles (configuration only), Relativity Legal Hold, and audit export where applicable.
• Supports the Division's platform roadmap; contributes tenant-administration inputs to the published roadmap.
• Troubleshoots advanced Relativity issues and owns the escalation path to Relativity support.
• Maintains tenant documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
• Partners with eDiscovery Project Managers on processing workflow administration.
• Coordinates with IT on network, storage, identity, and security requirements.
• Develops and delivers Relativity training for Division users.

Minimum qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree in IT, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relativity One Certified Administrator (RCA) — required at hire; must be actively maintained.
• Five (5) or more years of Relativity administration, including three (3) or more administering a multi-workspace Relativity or Relativity One environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Relativity user/group administration, permissions, search indices, analytics indices and profiles, templates, and productions.
• Strong understanding of ESI file formats, metadata, Exchange/M365/Google email architectures, and custodial data sources.

Preferred qualifications

• Relativity Expert or Master credential.
• Relativity Analytics Specialist, Review Management Specialist, or Infrastructure Specialist.
• Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, SQL) applied to Relativity.
• Prior Relativity One (SaaS) tenant-scale administration in a government, in-house, or managed-services setting.
• Microsoft Security Administrator Associate, Security/Compliance/Identity Fundamentals, or CompTIA Security .
