What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tenure-Track/Tenured: Open Rank position at Texas A&M University?
The James Benjamin Department of Accounting at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University invites applications for multiple full-time, open rank, tenured and tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor titles. Each position will have a 9-month academic appointment that begins in Fall 2027.
Successful candidates are expected to teach graduate and undergraduate classes, conduct scholarly research, work with PhD students, and provide service to the profession. The primary mode of teaching and research is in-person.
The Mays Business School and the James Benjamin Department of Accounting offer a collegial culture and faculty that perennially ranks as one of the most productive in the world for archival accounting research (BYU Accounting Rankings). The department offers an integrated program that confers both undergraduate and master’s degrees as well as stand-alone master’s degrees through our in-person or Flex Online programs. Our programs benefit from strong partnerships with public accounting firms and corporations.
Applicants for this position must possess a doctoral degree in Accounting or expect to receive their doctoral degree prior to September 1, 2027, a demonstrated or potential ability to publish in leading scholarly journals, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a strong interest in working with doctoral students.
