Tenure-Track: Assistant Professor Geography of Energy

The Department of Geography in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor whose research advances energy and human-environmental geography. We seek applicants who focus on the geographies of energy demand, production, or transitions against the background of changing environmental, economic, or geopolitical forces. This position will support our B.S. degree programs in Geography and Geographic Information Science and Technology, M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in Geography, the online Master’s of Geoscience program, the B.S. degrees in our college-level Environmental Programs, and a graduate certificate program in Geospatial Intelligence. The successful candidate must have a proven research record and a strong commitment to education and professionalization of undergraduate and graduate students. This is a nine-month full-time annual appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2027.

In addition to research expectations, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise graduate students. Candidates should be dedicated to providing high-quality education for a range of students. Faculty are also expected to participate in appropriate disciplinary service and contribute to departmental and university committees.

The Department of Geography (artsci.tamu.edu/geography) has thirty faculty members with strengths in biogeography, climatology, geographic information science and technology (GIST), geomorphology, human geography, and human-environment relationships.
