SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Athletics and serving as a member of the athletics department’s leadership team, the Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Support Services is responsible for directing all student-athlete support functions, including but not limited academic services, NIL, SAAC, and student-athlete development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the Thrower Academic Support Center and develops a comprehensive academic support program for student-athletes. Coordinates degree declaration, academic advising, tutoring, and academic support initiatives.
- Provides direct support to the university’s name, image, and likeness program with collaboration from internal partners. Develops and administers policies in conformance with federal, state, NCAA and conference guidelines. Creates and maintains a disclosure mechanism for student-athletes.
- Directs the eligibility certification process for new and continuing student-athletes.
- Assists student-athletes and head coaches with university admissions procedures.
- Develops and maintains effective processes to evaluate transferable degree credit for prospective transfer student-athletes.
- Plans and coordinates summer and fall orientation sessions for incoming student-athletes.
- Manages APR and GSR reporting processes in collaboration with relevant internal partners.
- Ensures implementation of programming, education and initiatives necessary to satisfy NCAA membership attestation requirements.
- Supervises and provides support to Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
- Supports department efforts to identify, nominate, and pursue national and conference awards opportunities for student- athletes.
- Serves as athletics department liaison to multiple campus constituents.
- Serves as a member of the athletics department’s leadership team, providing strategic direction and support to department operations and policy development.
- Serves as sport administrator for designated sports, as determined by the Athletics Director.
- Represents university and athletics department at institutional, conference, and NCAA meetings, as requested
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum four (4) years of full-time NCAA Division I academic advising/student services experience at an NCAA institution, NCAA national office, or conference office. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations regarding initial and continuing academic eligibility, and NCAA Division I academic progress-toward-degree requirements.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree
- Previous academic advising experience with football student- athletes.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in data collection and submission of NCAA APR and FGR/GSR data.
- Previous work experience in academic support, student services, or compliance at a NCAA Division I institution.
- Knowledge and experience working in Teamworks platform, including Retain and ARMS.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
Student-athlete support specialist, assistant director of student-athlete support services, graduate assistants, and student workers.
