What You’ll Do…
As the Director of Development, you will serve as an ambassador of the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M University, uniting donor generosity with the university’s vision to shape a better future. In this leadership role, you will:
- Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with college/unit priorities.
- Build and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, cultivating relationships that lead to impactful philanthropic support.
- Solicit gifts at the major and principal gift levels, advancing the mission of Texas A&M and the college/unit.
- Collaborate with academic leadership to identify funding priorities and communicate them effectively to donors.
- Lead stewardship efforts to ensure donors feel valued and informed about the impact of their giving.
- Mentor and guide development staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Represent the Foundation and college/unit at events, meetings, and donor engagements to strengthen relationships and visibility.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience, including major gift solicitation.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to the mission and vision of the Texas A&M Foundation.
- Master’s degree.
- 7 years of progressive development experience.
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) or comparable certification.
- Experience in nonprofit or higher education sectors.
- Demonstrated success in securing principal gifts and managing high-level donor relationships.
- Demonstrate the attributes and behaviors of a Passionate Professional Dedicated to Purposeful Philanthropy.
- Embody the Aggie Core Values and the Foundation Beliefs.
- Contribute to team effectiveness through knowledge-sharing and proactively identifying process improvements.
- Participate in the establishment and attainment of personal, departmental, divisional, and organizational goals and objectives in support of the mission, vision, and goals of the Foundation.
