Purpose:
The Lab Technician will perform research in Prof. Arum Han lab, the NanoBio Systems Laboratory, a multidisciplinary lab featured in microbiology research integrated with microfluidics (website: http://nanobio.tamu.edu.)
The project will be highly interdisciplinary and fast-paced, having multiple collaborating labs in environmental microbiology, microbial pathogenesis, and bioinformatics. The candidate is expected to work closely with lab members including postdoctoral researchers and graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications For Technician I

- Perform microbiological experiments in the NanoBio Systems Laboratory.
- Work closely with postdoctoral researchers and graduate students in the laboratory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications For Technician I
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience .
- Three years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of related experience
- Master’s degree in microbiology or related fields. Additional years of experience is preferred for bachelor’s degree holder.
- Extensive experience in microbiology skills such as isolation and cultivation of bacterial strains, growth phenotype examination, molecular biology skills such as nucleic acid or protein extraction, electroporation etc.
- Experience in handling cells (mammalian cells, microorganisms) in microsystems.
- Strong expertise in microbiology and molecular biology disciplines.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
