Job Description
The Laboratory Technician, under general supervision, prepares and maintains laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
- To provide timely and high quality output following specifically written protocols
- To provide timely and high quality cleaning of glassware and laboratory lab coats
- Receive, log into data management system and prepare feed and fertilizer samples
- To maintain accurate and complete records of work performed
- To recognize and inform the supervisor of problems with the physical facility or problems encountered during the work assignment
- To work cooperatively and safely with coworkers and supervisor
- To maintain equipment as needed and ensure work is clean and orderly
- Sets-up and maintains equipment for the assigned laboratory.
- Maintains inventory and orders parts and supplies as needed.
- Assists laboratory personnel in daily operations
- Cleans autoclaves and centrifuges
- Provides logistical support.
- Performs laboratory and prep room cleanup.
- Assist with reference material production and inventory management.
- May participate in study design and update Standard Operating Procedures
- Other duties as required.
- Associates degree or higher
- One year of related experience.
- Knowledge of maintaining laboratory environments.
- Knowledge of autoclave use.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
