What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Texarkana School District?
The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for Accounts Payable Specialist to begin immediately. This position requires a year round (12 month) contract. Applicants must pass a national criminal background check and a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry prior to beginning employment.
PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION:
Assist in the prompt and accurate payment of all expenses incurred by the district. Work under close supervision and follow established procedures to process purchase orders and invoices and maintain accounting records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Two years college preferred
APSCN/eFinance experience preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and perform word processing
Proficiency in use of calculator and office machines
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Calm and patient demeanor
Experience:
Two years of accounting experience at clerical level
