PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject area(s) assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Work with an assigned Mentor Teacher to develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university preferred
Valid Texas paraprofessional certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of academic subject(s) assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Experience working with children
Preferred field experience in a public school educational setting
