Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) to work with eligible children (birth to 36 months old) and their families. The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing treatment to enrolled children recommended by the interdisciplinary team which must include an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). They must also assist the OTR in complex treatment procedures, documenting patient progress in chart, and conferring regularly with supervision of OTR. He/she is responsible for active treatment and documentation of services delivery/needs. The position works under the direction of Occupational Therapist, Registered/ECI Program Managers. Program serves Fort Bend and Waller Counties.
Working hours are Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm. Adjusted time to meet the needs of families and the program may be required, as needed.
Salary
- $27.00 per hour 90% first six months-
- $28.50 per hour =95% second six months
- $30.00 per hour =100% after a year.
Required Experience
- Knowledge of infant/child development
- Knowledge of early intervention techniques
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of assessment techniques
- Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with individuals
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate both orally & in writing
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in applying departmental policy & procedure
- Ability to use/interpret standardized testing instruments
- *Texas Driver's License
- Current license Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
Preferred Experience
- Bilingual and Pediatrics experience
Skills, Education and/or Certifications Required
- Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license from the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
- Texas Driver License

Previous work experience in Pediatric Therapy
