About the Role
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, growth, and operational excellence of the branch. This role demands a strategic blend of sales leadership, client relationship management, team development, and operational oversight. The successful candidate will drive profitability, enhance our market presence, and ensure the delivery of outstanding service to our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development (30%)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of producers, account managers, and support staff.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable culture.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent for the branch.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and create individual development plans.
Sales Growth & Business Development (30%)
- Develop and execute the branch’s strategic business plan to achieve growth targets in revenue, profitability, and client retention.
- Personally maintain and grow a select book of key accounts.
- Actively lead new business development initiatives, leveraging personal networks and guiding the producer team.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities within the local community and specific industry verticals.
Client Service & Retention (20%)
- Ensure the highest standards of client service are consistently met.
- Oversee the management of complex client relationships and serve as an escalation point for service issues.
- Champion a client-centric culture, ensuring long-term retention and high satisfaction scores.
Operations & Financial Management (20%)
- Work with Corporate Accounting on the branch P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
- Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with company policies, procedures, and carrier agreements.
- Oversee the accuracy and quality of all client-facing documents and internal workflows.
- Maintain strong, strategic relationships with insurance carriers and key vendor partners.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
Required
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years in a sales leadership or management role within a brokerage.
- Proven track record of successfully growing revenue and managing a profitable book or branch.
- Deep understanding of personal and commercial lines insurance products, risk management, and underwriting.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Experience with major insurance agency management systems (e.g., Hawksoft, InsuredMine).
- Established network and reputation in the local business community.
Preferred
- Commercial Experience Preferred.
Certificates, License, and or Specialized Requirements
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) and/or Life & Health (L&H) insurance license as required by state.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, CISR, or ARM.
