Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Provide knowledgeable product demos and assist customers with inquiries about store merchandise and store layout
• Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and reconciling daily sales
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, addressing questions, and resolving concerns promptly
• Upsell products and suggest additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising efforts to ensure the store remains attractive and well-organized
• Maintain professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels
• Support supervising staff in daily operations and help train new team members on POS systems and customer service standards

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is advantageous
• Bilingual skills are a plus for serving a diverse customer base effectively
• Demonstrated strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership development within retail settings
• Basic math skills are essential for accurate cash handling, balancing registers, and processing transactions
