Shipping Clerk

Position Summary:

The Shipping Clerk will manage shipping for trucks and rail centers. Responsible for ensuring all paperwork is completed and appropriately filed for receipt of incoming materials and shipment of finished products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain an accurate filing system both electronically and hard-copy of product shipped.
• Matches work orders with transport carrier paperwork.
• Matches pipe loaded on truck with paperwork.
• Instructs the forklift operator to locate pipe in the yard for loading onto the truck.
• Creates and distributes Shipping Tally.
• Data input to the SAP system.
• Delivers documentation to truck drivers as required.
• Responsible for the housekeeping of the shipping office.
• Trains new hires in shipping clerk procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor.

• None

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic understanding of railway, dock, and warehouse procedures.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
