What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fixer position at Tex Tech Industries?
Summary:The Needle Room Fixer is responsible for the maintenance and overhauling of all needling equipment and other department(s) equipment as assigned. The Fixer carries out preventive maintenance programs according to specified procedures. The Fixer needs to make most major repairs in the Needling department and must have the ability to locate and diagnose trouble in systems and equipment. Plans and executes appropriate repairs to all types of machines and equipment, including other departments as necessary.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Boiler experience or willingness and ability to obtain a boilers license.
- Quick action is required for unexpected downtime & repairs.
- Responsible for grinding cards, greasing, oiling.
- Inspection and repair of exhaust blowers, gear drive units and clutches
- Keep a supply of parts made up and available for use.
- Record all information needed on appropriate paperwork or computer.
- Clean work area and machines as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety rules and safe work practices at all times.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills are a must.
- Knowledge and proper use of hand tools required.
- Must have own hand tools necessary to perform required duties.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, extensive mechanical education or experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk seven or more hours per day with frequent bending,
- Squatting and kneeling.
- Lift machine parts weighing up to 75 lbs. (sometimes overhead)
- Frequent pushing, pulling with force.
- Twisting, climbing, reaching and working overhead.
- Fine motor skills.
- Accurate vision.
