What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of STEM position at Tewksbury Public Schools?
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties and responsibilities outlined in the Massachusetts Superintendent and District Level Administrative Rubric
Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction
- Leads the design, selection, and implementation of evidence-based PreK-12 Math and STE curricula aligned with Massachusetts state standards and district-level achievement goals
- Partner with building principals to conduct classroom visitations across all buildings to monitor classroom instruction fidelity and the successful implementation of the Math, Science, Technology, and Engineering curriculum
- Partners with the Special Education and ELL departments to modify STEM instruction using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and specialized manipulatives
- Aggregates and analyzes district-wide Math and STE assessment data to identify achievement gaps and guide instructional practices
- Makes recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent relative to curriculum changes, new programming, and educational resources
Operations and Leadership
- Supervises, goal-sets with, and evaluates the district's Math and Science instructional coaches.
- Coordinates with building leadership teams to ensure vertical and horizontal programmatic alignment across all six schools
- Manages and oversees budgets for this department
Professional Development
- Designs, coordinates, and oversees applicable STEM-related in-service workshops and staff development informed by student assessment data and identified achievement gaps
- Delivers targeted professional development in conjunction with the systemwide professional development program to support the rollout of new high-quality instructional materials
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepares data, analysis, and annual reports required by state regulations or district leadership regarding state assessment outcomes
- Attends District Leadership Team meetings and serves on, directs, or leads any district committee assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
- Performs other duties as required by the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent of Schools
Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
