About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Solar Technician to support operations and maintenance of commercial and distributed generation (DG) solar assets. This role requires a skilled field professional capable of independently troubleshooting electrical and system faults, identifying root causes, and restoring system performance safely and efficiently.
The Senior Solar Technician also provides mentorship to junior technicians and helps improve overall system reliability and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair inverter, DC field, and AC electrical faults on solar PV systems
Perform electrical testing including insulation resistance testing, current/voltage analysis, and string troubleshooting
Interpret inverter interfaces and system data to identify root causes of equipment failures
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on inverters, combiners, disconnects, and balance-of-system components
Document troubleshooting results, root cause findings, and corrective actions in work order systems
Complete safety documentation including pre-job briefs and job safety analyses (JSAs)
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior field technicians
Identify recurring equipment issues and communicate recommendations to improve system reliability
Preferred Experience
Root cause analysis of recurring inverter faults or system issues
Experience with solar monitoring platforms or DAS systems
Previous experience mentoring junior technicians

Minimum Requirements
- 3 years of experience in commercial, C&I, or utility-scale solar operations and maintenance
- Proven experience troubleshooting string or central inverter systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing equipment including:
- Multimeters
- Clamp meters
- Insulation resistance testers (megger)
- Ability to independently diagnose electrical and system faults in solar PV systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
- Vehicle Requirement: Must provide a reliable personal vehicle with 4x4 traction for site access (Mileage provided).
