Environmental Scientist - Baltimore, MD

The Opportunity

Tetra Tech, Inc is currently seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist in our local Baltimore, MD office. The selected candidate will assist the Baltimore office with management of existing client redevelopment projects, completion of Phase I, Phase II ESAs, report writing, and assist with project management as needed.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
• Project management assistance as needed.
• Support field projects and field oversight.
• Report writing and preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• BS degree in environmental science, geology, or science related field.
• 3 - 8 years of relevant environmental experience.
• Previous experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
• Familiarity with MS Office.
• A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with GIS.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in field environments.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel and perform field work/oversight (approx. up to 50% of travel required).
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Field work/oversight will include frequent periods of time walking, lifting, standing, climbing, and bending. Office based work will include frequent periods of time sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer.
  
  

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

• Supporting field projects year-round in various weather conditions and environmental factors.
• Support reporting and project management-based tasks out of the Baltimore, MD office.
  
  

Additional Information

• Full-time, Monday through Friday work scheduled (40 hours). Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and/or client needs (including working on the weekend occasionally).
• B ased out of Baltimore, MD office and in the field with variable weather conditions
  
  

Target salary range: $80,000 to $83,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
