The candidate will support FAA development tenants with the integration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring operational efficiency, system reliability, and compliance with FAA standards. This role bridges operations and development teams by automating workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing solutions to enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using modern DevOps tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Terraform, and Ansible. This position requires a shifted daily schedule to end at 8:00PM Eastern time.

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C."

Job Duties & Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
- Provide DevOps support for FAA applications and systems, including deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar automation tools.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration, and environment management.
- Support version control and code management practices using GitLab and GitHub.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, application errors, and infrastructure outages in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Respond to service desk tickets related to technical cloud support, providing troubleshooting and resolution in a timely manner.
- Assist with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies.
- Work closely with system engineers, developers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve technical issues and maintain compliance with security requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configuration, support runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for infrastructure, automation tools, and development environments.
Required: A successful candidate will have
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years supporting cloud security and network operations.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Demonstrated experience in network configuration, firewall administration, and Palo Alto firewall support.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust.
- Experience with troubleshooting cloud and network environments and providing Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support.
- Ability to respond to and resolve service desk tickets in a timely manner.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security , Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Engineer (PCNSE), AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CCSP, or CISSP.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with POA&Ms, iRAT testing, and security documentation.
- Strong understanding of firewall rule design, packet flow troubleshooting, and secure network architecture.
- Previous experience in a federal or aviation-related IT security environment
- Work location: Remote, US.
- Position is: Completely remote
- Work Hours: 9am-5pm for the first 2-3 months; then 11am to 8pm eastern moving forward
- Travel: 10%
- Physical requirements:
- Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
- Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
