Your Role:
We are currently seeking a Junior Business Analyst for our Pickering location. This role works closely with project managers, billing specialists, and project controls personnel to ensure accurate invoicing, financial reporting, data integrity, and business performance analysis. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with project financial administration, including cost tracking, cash flow monitoring, billing support, and revenue reporting.
· Support project budgeting, forecasting, resource utilization tracking, and variance analysis.
· Prepare project summary reports, financial analyses, performance metrics, and executive dashboards for management review.
· Develop and maintain reports, KPIs, and data visualizations using Power BI and other reporting tools.
· Collect, validate, and analyze project, operational, and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
· Produce clear and concise cost reports, financial summaries, and graphical presentations of project performance.
· Monitor project financial performance, including costs, revenue, margins, and utilization, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
· Assist in maintaining project work breakdown structures (WBS), utilization databases, and project controls documentation.
· Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Collaborate with project teams to improve business processes, reporting efficiency, data quality, and project controls.
· Leverage Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting, analysis, process automation, and decision-making.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements to improve operational and financial performance.
Qualifications
· College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
· 2–4 years of experience in project controls, financial analysis, business analysis, project administration, accounting, or a related role.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or other reporting and data visualization tools.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other AI-enabled productivity tools.
· Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, financial reporting, and project controls principles.
· Experience with ERP and project management systems is an asset.
· Experience in an engineering, consulting, or project-based environment is preferred.
· Eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance.
The expected annual compensation range for this position is $70,000-$85,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining compensation, including but not limited to education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
