POSITION SUMMARY
The General Surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical care to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, operative and non-operative management, and follow-up of surgical conditions. This position plays a key role in supporting the hospital’s mission to deliver high-quality, accessible healthcare close to home.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Perform a full range of general surgical procedures.
· Participate in shared call coverage for surgical emergencies.
· Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
· Provide preoperative and postoperative consultations, education, and follow-up.
· Document all patient encounters and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner.
· Maintain compliance with hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory standards.
· Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer review processes.
· Serve as an advocate for patient safety and community health education.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
· Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
· Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (American Board of Surgery).
· Current, unrestricted Idaho medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
· Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification.
· Minimum 2 years of post-residency experience preferred (new graduates considered).
· Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Full-time position with a combination of scheduled surgical cases, outpatient clinic, and shared call responsibilities.
