What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Teton Valley Hospital?
This position maintains accounting systems, reporting activities, and internal controls for the hospital, clinics and foundation. The Controller provides oversight of staff accounting functions and materials management.
Job Description:
· Directs the department’s operations to ensure financial records are up to date and accurate.
· Compiles accurate, timely financial statements and reports.
· Implement policies and procedures related to financial reporting and controls.
· Works closely with managers to ensure revenues and expenses are properly recognized throughout the organization.
· Works closely with managers and the CFO to identify cost containment and revenue maximization opportunities.
· Monitors accounts payable to ensure invoices are paid timely and are allocated to the general ledger accurately.
· Monitors the staff to ensure that accounting tasks are accurate, appropriate, and timely.
· Produce ad-hoc analyses and reports to assist executive leaders with important financial decisions.
· Oversees the Materials Manager to ensure the Materials department is functioning efficiently and effectively.
· Partners with the Revenue Cycle Director where appropriate.
· Leads the annual audit, cost report preparation, filing and 990 preparatory filing.
