Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Power Technician to join our team.
Scope of Services
MPT hereby orders the following Services under 64133 – Wearables – System – System Health and Integration.
The Power Technician role is an important role in the Systems Health SDO Labs. Staffed by senior testers capable of delivering world-class test planning and execution and driving the end-to-end testing of multiple features.
The Technician must be capable of professional, clear verbal and written communication with other disciplines including team group posts to share test status and provide clarity on defect reports.
The Technician will be working across all RL products (in particular Wearables but not to exclude VR) to develop the San Diego Power Optimization Labs. The Services shall include but not limited to the following:
- Support other engineers to conduct power tests
- Instrument commercial devices for power measurement
- Logistical support and device management as necessary
- Lab and technical support
- Feature bring-up with engineers
- Ad-hoc requests from other teams
- Test status reporting
- Review of bug reports from other team members
- Test case execution
- Software and hardware bug investigation and reporting
- Bug fix verification
Skills:
- Experience with test tools used for debugging or investigation, eg Visual Studio, gdb, Android Studio, adb, etc.
- Ability to create clear, concise reports
- Ability to review logs to derive root-cause of bugs
- Ability to develop test cases and test plans
- Competency with command line tools
- Experience with commonly used bug-tracking software such as Jira, Bugzilla, Mantis, etc.
- Strong deductive reasoning
- Strong understanding of the software development process
- Ability to drive multiple features at the same time and set priorities with limited guidance
- Ability to take ownership of their work and balance multiple priorities and keep stakeholders informed of possible impacts due to ongoing requirements changes
- Ability to work completely independently in an environment of varying ambiguity
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field and 6 years of experience in a QA or related role OR
Bachelor's degree in any field and 10 years of QA experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
