Lead Dispatcher

Company Description Testing Engineers, Inc. is a Special Inspection and Material Testing Laboratory serving clients across the San Francisco Bay Area. The company provides a wide range of services, including X-Ray, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), soils compaction and soils testing, consulting engineering, load testing, and water infiltration testing. Additional capabilities include product testing, fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) testing, and screw testing to support construction quality and safety. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dispatcher role based in San Leandro, CA. The Dispatcher will coordinate daily schedules for field technicians and inspectors, ensuring timely assignments to various job sites and projects. Responsibilities include receiving and prioritizing service requests, entering and updating job details in scheduling software, and communicating clearly with clients, technicians, and office staff. The role involves monitoring project progress, adjusting schedules to address urgent needs or delays, and confirming that required equipment, documentation, and testing materials are allocated correctly. The Dispatcher will also maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, assist with basic administrative tasks, and support overall operational efficiency in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adjust schedules in real time.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with technicians, engineers, and clients in a clear and professional manner.
• Comfort with basic computer applications and scheduling or dispatch software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in recording job information, updating logs, and maintaining documentation.
• Customer service mindset, with a focus on responsiveness, problem-solving, and maintaining positive working relationships.
• Ability to work on-site full time in San Leandro, CA, and operate in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes and field coordination needs.
• Prior dispatch, field coordination, construction, or laboratory services experience is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or experience in construction, engineering, or logistics is a plus.
• Bilingual a plus (spanish).
