We are planning on moving to Fort Lupton, CO towards the end of the year.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site entry-level position in the machine shop at Test Metals, located in Aurora, CO. The role involves tasks such as machining and preparing test specimens from various metals and materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards. Learn basic operation of CNC lathe, mill, and surface grinders, as well as sectioning equipment and methods. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams for precise test specimen preparation and assist in maintaining an organized and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
- Will teach basic understanding of machining principles, including operating lathes, mills, surface grinder and sectioning methods
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete precision work
- Will teach basic knowledge of materials and their properties (metals, alloys, etc.)
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean workspace
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in a machine shop or related environment is a plus but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are beneficial
